On October 4, 2020, we enjoyed a Mini Volley Match after a long restraint term. Usually, this sports day is held twice a year, April and October. This year, however, April’s one was cancelled due to COVID-19 infection spread. Although we can hold the event, the number of participants was limited and strictly controlled.  As other events and matches have cancelled this year, we thanked a lot for holding this event for organizers. We enjoyed the feeling of matches of Mini volley on that day.

This sports day has Mini volley hands-on lectures for beginners in the morning, and real matches in the afternoon. As we had regular Abiko practice in the morning, we joined this event from afternoon session. At this time, we have four Abiko members for joining this sports day.

Firstly, we have checked our body temperature and sanitized hands and fingers at the entrance. Participants’ name, phone number and body temperature are recorded.

Between games,  sanitization of hands, ball and electronic whistle was repeatedly done. Also, under the chairman of Tokyo Mini Volley Association’s command, we often opened windows for changing air. These infection control efforts have already been our routine work to play mini volley.

We have 12 teams decided by shuffle. Firstly, we played in primary, then, winners went to final tournament, and the others went to second league.

Fortunately, my team members are all I know well as I have practiced a lot with them so often. I was so lucky to advance to the final with them.

The final game was really like a real serious game. Wonderful, fast and powerful serves were given so many times and I could not receive them well… But we gathered our forces and did our best!

Then, the champion team was… this wonderful team! Congratulations and thank you for giving us a great game!

We were a little bit sorry in the second place. But we were a good team with good harmony and smiles!

This is bronze medalist team! All of winners got a prize of handy fan!

After the final, we enjoyed exhibition matches of men, women, and mix by nominating players from each circles.

This was a precious day that we felt enthusiasm of mini volley by forgetting everything and concentrating on only mini volley.

I look forward to coming such days before COVID-19. Until then, we play mini volley with much care for infection prevention.

This is the photo of afternoon session participants. We are all fine! We were very happy to see each other and play mini volley! Thank you for everyone, thank you for everything!
